FOUNDERS AND STAFF

Staff includes co-founders & psychologists Donna LaMar, PhD & Betsy Laney, MA, LLP, licensed by the State of Michigan. They work at both The Farm’s Counseling Center and The Nature Center.  Other staff is available for activities.

• Betsy Laney, is a former foster parent and the single parent of two adopted daughters  and grandmother to four grandchildren.  She brings “hands on” experience as a teacher of twenty years as well as a being a psychologist to her work with children and youth of all ages and families.  Her extensive experience working with youth and families from a variety of problems and backgrounds both as a teacher and a psychologist, helps them work through their special issues and gain a better future.
  
  
• Dr. Donna LaMar, the author of  Marie Did It, So Can I! Surviving, Healing and Transcending Abuse and Neglect (previously Transcending Turmoil), is the mother of two biological children and has three grandchildren.  Donna has experience working with individuals (adults and children) who have been abused and neglected. Her work helps them heal and grow from trauma. She has done extensive research on how individuals survive, heal and transcend abuse and neglect.  Dr. Donna is a National speaker for conferences, workshops and seminars for traumatized victims, professionals, organizations, schools, and other areas.
